This post will be in English for my friends from Canada. In 15 days I will be going on a trip with my fiance Emma to Alberta and British Columbia, and tomorrow it is Canada Day. To honour the country that gave us Justin Bieber, Bryan Adams, poutine and Pamela Anderson I’ve made some Canada flags for the Canada style cupcakes I will bake later today.
If you want to make your own flags you can download my Canada flags on pdf, print it out, cut out, fold and glue with a toothpick. (Of course you can share the pdf with your friends or on your blog, but please link back to me then).

Oh Canada, our home and native land! A funny fact is that the name Canada originates from the First Nations word “kanata” which means settlement, village or land. I guess all Canadians know that, but us Swedes don’t.

Memories from the summer of ’69.

The maple leaf flag, or l’Unifolié, was first used in 1965 – something I couldn’t believe! Before that the Union Jack was mostly used as I understand it. You can read more about the Canadian flag on Wikipedia.
Tomorrow you can check back here Click here for a recipe of Canada Day Cupcakes! See you guys soon!
